A design which originally started as fan art for the podcast series known as “Face Jam”, a fortnightly audio comedy podcast discussing the limited edition Fast food items and friends having a good time produced by Rooster Teeth Productions, LLC. The podcast stars voice actor/comedian Michael Jones, Voice actor/animator Jordan Cwierz, and Producer Eric Baudour with guest star audio engineer/sauce monkey Nick Schwartz. The art was based on a joke made by Jordan about the levels of spiciness people like from Episode 16, “Burger King Spicy Nuggets”; He compared it to a “Spice Rat” with higher and lowers of this being “Spice Mouse” and “Spice Rat King”. I took to that and Sketched a fairly simple rat design with the little elements of spice that are a breath of fire and a chili pepper; inspired by strong ink work and classic tattoos. After publishing it to a community site, the head director of Rooster Teeth Productions LLC reached out to me and bought the art as a commission to use for merchandising rights. Later on down the process, the shirt was produced and released to the public during one of the podcast’s special event live streams. The shirt sold out within the hours and is currently awaiting a restock.
